Dolby Poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi Teases a Key Duel

Most posters for the newest Star Wars episode thus far have been unsurprising, as the majority use pre-existing key art that we already saw on all the merchandise released on Force Friday.

That's why this new poster by artist Paul Shipper is s exciting. Not only does it have the look of an old-school Drew Struzan poster, but take a look to the lower left. (We've zoomed in on the key area above.)

Look at the duel happening in silhouette on what appears to be a mountainside. That's new.

From a distance, it looks like a lightsaber duel, and we've seen such duels in silhouette on Star Wars posters before. But look closer: Rey appears to be the figure who's falling, and her weapon more closely resembles her signature staff.  Since a lightsaber should cut that in half easily, perhaps the other figure is Luke, training her in stick-fighting without actual sabers in play. It's a very different training method from Yoda, and while it might just be a visual nod to the iconography of dueling, it will once more fuel suspicions that Luke and Rey will actually fight at some point.

Unless that isn't Luke at all. Hmmm...
