Marz, Clark, Moussa, Nowlan Among Top Creators At 2019 Wizard World Austin, November 8-10
Industry veterans Ron Marz (“Silver Surfer,” “Thor”), Jeremy Clark ("Grimm Fairy Tales," "Day of the Dead"), Mostafa Moussa (“Superman,” “Fantastic Four”), Kevin Nowlan ("Batman: Sword of Azrael," "Batman: The Animated Series"), Joe Wos (“Mazetoons,” “An Animation Celebration: The Top 100 Animated TV Characters”) and Ray Wenck (Random Survival series, Ghost of a Chance) are among the leading creators scheduled to populate Artist Alley at the 10th annual Wizard World Austin at the Austin Convention Center, November 8-10. The weekend will also feature many demonstrations and discussions at the Creative Stage, as well as numerous local Austin-area creators.
Other notable artists and writers among the 70+ attending are Rick Leonardi ("Spider-Man," "X-Men"), Lawrence Reynolds ("Star Wars," "Marvel" trading cards), Michael Calero ("Tandar," "All New Fathom"), Jerry Pesce (PescEffects) and Jessica Von Braun ("Greystone Valley" series, "Dollface").
Austin area creators on hand include Julia Mann (sketches), Billi Capman (accessories), Theresa Schlossberg (fine art), KM Tolan (Blade Dancer, Tracks), Jason Staten (crystals, figurines), Kim Sanchez (sewing), Patti Bonham (ornaments, canvas art), Henry Melton (Dragon, Analog), Clinton Farley (Hell on Earth, Wolfsbane), Chris Pilch ("Rick and Morty" cards, "Steven Universe"), Dina Porter (crochet), Annie Lewis, Phillip Peguero (illustrations), Lucas Mangum (Flesh and Fire, Mania), Christine Paterson, Larena Hanna and Tanya Davis (figurines).
Wizard World Austin will also include non-stop live entertainment, gaming, exclusive Q&A sessions with select celebrities and autographs/photo ops with top stars such as “Smallville” standouts Tom Welling (“Clark Kent”), Michael Rosenbaum (“Lex Luthor”), Kristin Kreuk (“Lena Lang”), Erica Durance (“Lois Lane”), Laura Vandervoort (“Kara”) and John Glover (“Lionel Luthor”), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), Henry Winkler (“Happy Days,” “Barry”) and Barry Williams (“The Brady Bunch,” “A Very Brady Renovation”), Samm Levine (“Freaks and Geeks,” Inglourious Basterds), Thomas Ian Nicholas (Rookie of the Year, American Pie) and more, along with Wizard World’s Master of Ceremonies, Kato Kaelin.
Wizard World events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more. The 13th event scheduled on the 2019 Wizard World calendar, Austin show hours are Friday, November 8, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, November 9, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, November 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Kids 10 and under are admitted free with paid adult.
Wizard World Austin is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event. Fans dressed as every imaginable character – and some never before dreamed – will roam the convention floor and participate in the famed Wizard World Costume Contest on Saturday evening.
