‘Lord of the Rings’ Star Billy Boyd Added To Wizard World Comic Con Tulsa Roster, September 8-9

Billy Boyd, best known to fans for his role as the beloved “Peregrin ‘Pippin’ Took” in numerous versions of The Lord of the Rings franchise, will appear at Wizard World Comic Con Tulsa next weekend at the Cox Business Center. The Scottish-born actor, who has nearly 50 film and TV credits, will appear on Saturday and Sunday, September 8-9, when he will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct an interactive fan Q&A.

A hugely popular guest at previous Wizard World events, Boyd began work as a youngster in a book-binding workshop, where, ironically, the Lord of the Rings trilogy were among the books he printed and bound. He switched careers, attending the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and appearing in numerous plays and TV series in his homeland. He then auditioned for the LOTR films, earning the hobbit “Pippin” role which has endeared him to millions of fans worldwide. He has also had key roles in the TV series “Empty” and the feature film White Island among his notable credits.

In Tulsa, the personable Boyd joins a roster of celebrities that includes the “Sons of Anarchy” duo of Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Ryan Hurst ("Bates Motel"), Holly Marie Combs ("Charmed," "Picket Fences"), Brian Krause ("Charmed"), Drew Fuller ("Charmed"), Charisma Carpenter ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel") and Thomas Ian Nicholas (Rookie of the Year, American Pie) at the comic con and pop culture extravaganza.
