Lehner, Bender, Coss, Watson Among Top Creators At 2019 Wizard World Pittsburgh, July 26-28
Kurt Lehner (“Gargoyles,” “Marvel Action Hour”), Howard Bender (“Superman,” “Spider-Man”), Shawn Coss (“Cyanide and Happiness,” “Freakpocalypse”) and Mike Watson (Freestyle Komics, UpperDeck) are among the leading creators scheduled to populate Artist Alley at the third Wizard World Pittsburgh at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, July 26-28. The weekend will also feature many demonstrations and discussions at the Creative Stage, as well as several Pittsburgh-area creators.
Other notable artists and writers scheduled to appear include Ray Wenck (Random Survival, Ghost of a Chance), Michael Calero (“Tandar” animatronics, “All New Fathom”), Nate Michaels (“Candy Classics,” “Monsters”), Brent Woodside (Lucas Arts, Wizards of the Coast) and local standouts Sara Danylo (“The Chosen Wand”) and Jeffrey Wateska (“Lovepop Cards”), among others.
Wizard World Pittsburgh will also include non-stop live entertainment, gaming, exclusive Q&A sessions with select celebrities and autographs/photo ops with top stars such as Zachary Levi (Shazam!, Thor), the “Charmed” duo of Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause, Jewel Staite (“Firefly,” Serenity) Samm Levine (“Freaks and Geeks,” “Undeclared”), Jason Faunt (Power Rangers Time Force), Thomas Ian Nicholas (Rookie of the Year, American Pie), pro wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer and more, along with Wizard World’s Master of Ceremonies, Kato Kaelin.
Wizard World events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more. The eighth event scheduled on the 2019 Wizard World calendar, Pittsburgh show hours are Friday, July 26, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, July 27, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, July 28, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Kids 10 and under are admitted free with paid adult.
Wizard World Pittsburgh is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event. Fans dressed as every imaginable character – and some never before dreamed – will roam the convention floor and participate in the famed Wizard World Costume Contest on Saturday evening.
