Singer / Songwriter / Author James Morris Added To Wizard World Austin Lineup This Weekend
Singer/songwriter and author James Morris will be joining the 2018 Squeaky Wheel Tour, an annual, internationally acclaimed concert series created by the GINA for Missing Persons FOUNDation. The tour has a very unique mission, as entertainers and sponsors work together to raise awareness for the staggering number of people who vanish every year. James is honored to be invited to join the line-up for a third year to help educate the public about the missing, provide resource/support information, and spotlight specific missing persons in the event area.
“Every day around 2,300 people go missing. That’d be like if half of my high school up and vanishes into thin air. When I learned this I wanted to do something, anything to help bring those people home. I got involved and still want to help, to bring these people home to their families,” recalls Morris, first meeting Jannel Rap, Founder and President of the GINA for Missing Persons Foundation, at a music industry event where she was a featured speaker.
Rap says, “James Morris has been instrumental in bringing awareness to missing persons since 2011. His diligence and focus to assist their family members in getting the word out about missing persons has created a kinship with families of the missing. When a family has a long term missing person, there is a point where they feel like they are the only ones still searching, James’ intention gives them hope and community.” The GINA for Missing Persons FOUNDation’s mission is to educate the public by utilizing entertainment to create awareness and media attention for missing persons world-wide, and to offer a source of information to help people whose family members are missing.
James has been out on the road for much of the Wizard World 2018 Tour. He is excited to be a part of the Wizard World Austin show. This will be his first time to appear in Austin. Morris will be performing his original music, presenting writer’s workshops, and supporting his Young Adult, Science Fiction book trilogy, The Three Kingdoms—Sky Bound, Water Tower and Surface.
He looks forward to performing songs such as “Vacant” featured in season 3 of the Emmy-Award winning show “Born This Way” on the A&E Network and “Find You” which he dedicates to the families and friends of the missing. Morris’ music has also been licensed by NASCAR, E!, MTV, Oxygen, WE, & Discovery. James album, CATCH FIRE, is available here.
