Born in New York City in 1964, Zach Galligan began his career as an actor in an ABC Afterschool Special, A Very Delicate Matter. Galligan's most notable role was as Billy Peltzer in the Steven Spielberg-produced 1984 film, Gremlins. Before the first Gremlins film, Galligan appeared in Nothing Lasts Forever, but the film was never released.
In 1988, he starred as Mark Loftmore in the horror comedy Waxwork. He reprised his role as Billy Peltzer in the 1990 sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch, along with Phoebe Cates.
The following year he appeared in the the film Zandalee opposite Nicolas Cage. In 1992, he led the cast of Waxwork II: Lost in Time with Bruce Campbell. In the late ‘90s, he starred in the films Gabriela and Raw Nerve. A few years later brought Galligan’s return to ‘80s style horror with a starring role in Adam Green’s Hatchet 3 (2013) .
Zach has acted in over 70 film and television programs. His latest film is Jason Mewes’ directorial debut, Madness in the Method (2019).
