Sean Schemmel is a professional voice actor, director and musician. He is best known as the English voice of Goku for the hugely popular anime, Dragon Ball Z. Known for his vocal versatility, he has also voiced dozens of characters for numerous animated series and video games such as Pokemon, Yugioh, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo, Sofia The First, DC Super Friends, Skylanders, Fallout 4, Dishonored 2 and many others. Seán was also an ADR director for NYAV Post, where he adapted for English and directed numerous anime titles including Space Pirate Mito, Midori Days, Sadamitsu: The Destroyer, and Ah! My Goddess.
In the realm of audiobooks, Seán is an award winning narrator, winning a 2010 Earphones award for his work in The Big Splash by Jack D. Ferriaolo, and was nominated for a 2011 Audie Award in the category of humor for his work in Shit My Dad Says by Justin Halpern, and won a 2013 Audie for his work in I Suck At Girls by the same author.
Seán has starred in the feature films Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods & Resurrection ‘F’, reprising his roles as Goku, and King Kai, the latter breaking box office records and was just generally pretty awesome.
Sean is currently reprising his roles as Goku and King Kai in the new hit Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball Super, currently airing on Cartoon Network.
Seán makes many appearances at conventions around the world, and is known for his "highly informative, and entertaining, but down to earth panels", or at least that's what a bunch of people have told him.
Seán currently lives in Los Angeles with his girlfriend and their magical dog.
Seán is also a gear head and in his home studio he uses Blue mics, and Rupert Neve Designs Shelford modules, and Universal Audio Plugins and Neumann monitors.
Seán plays PRS and Ibanez guitars and Engelbert Schmid Horns.
