The Portland Ghostbusters began in the spring of 2012 in Portland, OR. James Nelson and Boone Langston met at McMenamins to discuss forming a local group.
It all started with two members and an upcoming comicon in the fall. By the time the convention rolled around the group had grown to five members. The group has been growing ever since. All of their members build their own equipment (some of it dating back to 1984). And all of their members have fond memories of the films and the cartoons from their youth.
The Portland Ghostbusters helps raise money for charities including Make-a-Wish, and the Lupus Foundation Of America. They have done children’s birthday parties, and film showings.
The Portland Ghostbusters are proud to be the first Ghostbusters franchise local to Portland, and members of Sony’s Ghost Corps.
