Ecto-Nola is a fan based built prop car built by Brandon Moreau of New Orleans, Louisiana. Brandon has been a fan of Ghostbusters, since a very young age he was fascinated with the Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A. In January 2014 he begin searching for a car suitable for a Ecto-1A, but finding a 1959 through the early 60’s was nearly impossible and finding one that was in running condition was a feat.
Brandon decided to look for a newer model that was road worthy and in good running condition. He found that car in Nashville, TN and took a trip to pick her up. The car he chose was a 1993 Cadillac hearse produced by Superior Coaches. After purchasing he began the hard work of turning this car into Ecto-1A from Ghostbusters II. 2 years later the car is still being tweaked and modified. Its a labor of love for him and a passion and joy.
The car has 2 Code 3 MX7000 light bars on her, One in the far front with a light sequence of Green, Amber, Red, Amber, Green and One at the rear with a sequence of Amber, Blue, Red, Blue, Amber. One Whelen Strobe Bar with Green ends, Blue then Green middles. And other red, blue and white Strobes. She also has two LED sign Boards and a PVC roof rack with 4 6” outdoor speakers and 2 outdoor 6” subs. She also has and Ecto Siren box with a sound board made by Replica Props.
The car is stocked with a LTI V8 350 5.7 liter engine. Brandon also made improvements to the electric system and charging system, adding a 250 watt power inverter and wall plug system so that he can plug the lighting system straight to power from a 110 volt outlet. He added a split system diode in oder to separate the Car battery from the aux battery which powers the lights. He added a battery charging system so that when the car is parked for long periods of time he can plug it in to 110 volts and charge both batteries without cranking it.
This is a Truly built Fan Car!
