Cody Hooper-Kaufmann has been an artist since he could pick up a crayon. He polished his skills at the Academy of Art University, starting as a sculpture major and branching out into ceramics, metal art, jewelry, and bronze casting. In 2015, he combined his love of animals with his passion for ink-and-watercolor painting to start his own whimsical watercolor art business, HeArt by Cody. From his home art studio, Cody is constantly creating new original pieces and reproducing them as limited-edition prints, greeting cards, patches, and more. You can often find him on the road, selling his work at fairs and festivals all over the Pacific Northwest. (A serendipitous meeting at one of these events introduced him to Susan R. Stoltz of Pygmy Giraffe Publishing, paving the way for a wonderful collaboration and for Cody to proudly wear the title of published illustrator.) Cody lives in Vancouver, Washington with his fiancé Daniel, three adorable but rather pushy cats, and a 7½ foot red-tailed boa named Zora.
