Cal Dodd is a highly regarded actor and award winning singer hailing from Ireland. A master vocalist with immense range, Dodd spent years recording and touring with exemplary musicians like Billy Joel and Joe Cocker.
Having a successful career in radio jingles, Dodd made his first foray into voice acting in the early 1990s with X-Men The Animated Series. Using his mastery of vocal techniques, Dodd crafted the gruff, gravelly voice of Wolverine and, in doing so, landed the biggest role in TV animation at the time.
Dodd’s guttural growls and well-written punch lines made Wolverine the most popular character in both DC and Marvel, setting a toy sales records and leading to additional episodes being ordered of the series. Dodd’s iconic performance and the legacy of the 1990s X-Men series laid the groundwork for the highly successful Hugh Jackman-led live action franchise.
Dodd is also known for voicing Slappy the Dummy on R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps along with Captain America, Iceman, and Wolverine on the CAPCOM video games.
