Big Wy's Brass Band
Big Wy's Brass Band is an Austin, TX based brass band originally formed by students looking to have a good time. After a few jam sessions, Wyatt Corder (Big Wy) brought in other members to join the band.
Since then the band has dominated competitions such as "JamFest" and the "3rd Annual Hand Drawn Records Competition". This funky ensemble has had the privilege of playing at other well-known events and venues in and around the Austin area such as “Carnaval Brasilerio” at the Palmer Events Center alongside the nationally renowned Austin Samba School, “Swamp Fest”, and the “HONKTX! 2016 and 2017 Brass Band Festivals”, which brings together some of the most popular brass bands from around the nation. Big Wy’s Brass Band performed at SXSW 2016 for the “Hand Drawn Records Brass House” showcase and the “Paper Boat Records Kick Butt Coffee” showcase, and SXSW 2017 for the Habitat for Humanity Environmedia Party. The band is also making an international name for themselves as they recently traveled to Guatemala for the 2017 IGA International Jazz Festival just this past March and also to Costa Rica for the CR Promising Artists of The 21st Century Tour just this past August.
The band came together 4 years ago and has since been enjoying making music for both themselves and their audiences. Big Wy’s Brass Band is proud of it's past accomplishments and looks forward to more in the future.
