After graduating from Columbia College Chicago, Ali Cantarella self-published her all ages graphic novel, "The Hasty Pastry" and dove into the exciting world of comic conventions around the country. She has since illustrated multiple children's books ("Monkey and Dragon in The Golden Hour") collaborated with dozens of Chicago creatives on comic projects ("Eisegesis: Kings and Queens", "The Grabber", "Crisp") as well as worked with corporate clients (Modern Luxury LLC, Cars.Com, The James Beard Foundation, Jim Beam) while donating her playful caricature skills to such charitable organizations as PAWSChicago and The Humane Society Calumet. She is a proud educator, leading workshops with The Girls Scouts of America, The International School of Comics, and public libraries in the greater Chicago area.
When she's not creating whimsical watercolor work, she can be found expressively painting with unique mediums such as wine and coffee in the bars, coffee shops, and loving homes of friends new or old around the world. She enjoys creating food as colorful as it is tasty, biking around Chicago, and leaving half-drank cups of tea on various surfaces around her apartment.
