August 2011 marks the arrival of the seventh annual MechaCon in New Orleans, La. This year, as with our previous events, MechaCon continues to strive to achieve excellence. Bridging the genres of Anime and Transformers with Japanese cultural exhibits, panels and presentations, MechaCon was the first convention of its kind.
Previously located in Louisiana's Hub City, Lafayette, on the I-10 corridor between New Orleans, Louisiana and Houston, Texas, MechaCon became immensely popular and outgrew its home city in just five short years. This made it necessary for MechaCon to move in our sixth year, settling in our new home city of New Orleans, La.
For our seventh annual MechaCon, we are proud to declare that, while still in New Orleans, we have moved to a new convention property. Our event will now be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside on August 26-28, 2011. Being a convention held in the Crescent City, MechaCon is easily accessible for fans joining us from not only south, central and north Louisiana, but east Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. With confirmed attendees joining us from across the country and even from Mexico and Canada, it is easy to see why MechaCon promises to continue to be a well-attended event from all fronts.
Anime fans from all over the country are already generating buzz within the industry regarding the ground-breaking advancements MechaCon continues to bring to the anime convention culture. We intend to continue to strive for excellence as we bring new and exciting ideas and events to the fans and industry of anime culture. Founded on true professionalism, coupled with the world-reknowned hospitality of the deep South and Cajun Country, MechaCon is a driving force in the anime convention circuit that stands out as an positive example to all others.
