From artwork that has gone viral across the internet, to designs appearing on virtually every other convention, Josh Mirman has put together his own label, Zen Monkey Studios. Official licensed clients range from Conan O'Brien to Kevin Smith, and everywhere in-between. He has drawn children's books for a publisher or two, and has even been known as a webcartoonist back when he was in college.
Nowadays he is most known for revitalizing psychedelic typography that was heavily inspired from rock venue posters from the 60s and 70s, and calling these pieces part of the Very Wordy series.
Featured on many daily shirt websites, including Teefury, Ript Apparel, Shirtpunch, and Another Fine Tee, Josh has slowly but steadily taken his experience into Zen Monkey Studios, where original work of his can be found, alongside both veteran designers, and newcomers, some still attending art school.
Josh is from Long Island, NY, found it a little on the boring side, and decided to attend the School of Visual Arts where he received his BFA in Illustration. He now wakes up l ate in Brooklyn, and stays up late in front of his tablet, aiming to finish another project.
