Theo Rossi is an actor, producer and philanthropist who currently stars as ‘Shades’ on the Marvel series “Luke Cage” for Netflix. Rossi formerly played the fan favorite ‘Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz’ on the critically acclaimed television series “Sons of Anarchy” on FX.
Rossi studied acting at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York. Throughout his acting career, he has showcased his versatility starring in a multitude of projects including “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Lost”, and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," and films "When The Bough Breaks," "Bad Hurt," and “Cloverfield" to name a few.
Rossi formed the New York-based production company, Dos Dudes Pictures, which released its first award-winning and critically acclaimed feature film, Bad Hurt, in theaters throughout the United States in 2016. Rossi starred-in and produced, Bad Hurt, which premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival where it was among a Top 10 Audience Favorite. Bad Hurt was also awarded “Best Narrative Feature” by the Sunscreen Film Festival.
When Rossi is not working, he spends his time giving back. He founded GoGetItLIFE.com in late 2014. The brand encourages a healthy, positive lifestyle through its active online blog community and social media engagement. Rossi is also an ambassador for the Boot Campaign, and has traveled to every major U.S. military base including USO trips to Iraq to visit troops and extend his support. In addition to supporting numerous charities throughout the country and in his home base of New York, in the wake of 2012's Hurricane Sandy, Rossi founded StatenStrong, which united a team of community first responders to deliver emergency care and financial resources to Staten Island, NY residents. StatenStrong also rebuilt three homes destroyed by the storm.
In 2014, Rossi was featured in a Humane Society campaign focusing on education and support programs for the more than 300 million street dogs worldwide. He continues to work with the Humane Society on numerous issues and causes.
Further promoting a healthy lifestyle, in 2016 Rossi founded his premium bottled water company, Ounce Water. The New York-based company encourages people to drink more water by setting a daily goal of 80 ounces of water. Rossi most recently starred in the Screen Gems film, “When The Bough Breaks,” and can now be seen in Marvel’s "Luke Cage" as ‘Shades’ streaming on Netflix. His next project, the untitled “Lowriders” pic from Universal and Blumhouse opposite Demian Bichir is set to release May of 2017.
