Amy Christine Dumas, best known by her stage name Lita, is the lead singer for the band The Luchagors as well as a retired professional wrestler and WWE Diva active from 1999 to 2006.
After briefly working on the independent circuit and in Extreme Championship Wrestling, Dumas signed with World Wrestling Federation in 1999. Originally, she was paired with Essa Rios, but she achieved her greatest push alongside Matt and Jeff Hardy as Team Xtreme. Throughout her career, she won the WWE Women's Championship four times. During her tenure with the company she became arguably the most popular Diva in the company's history.
Dumas had an off-screen relationship with Matt Hardy, which ended in 2005 after an affair with Adam Copeland. WWE used the real-life drama between the trio as a storyline throughout 2005 and 2006, which led to Dumas being booed by the fans for the first time and her character becoming villainous on-screen. The relationship also led to the firing of Hardy in 2005, although he was rehired later that year.
After her retirement from wrestling in 2006, she and then-boyfriend Shane Morton formed the punk rock band The Luchagors. The band released their self-titled debut CD on September 11, 2007.
She made a special appearance on December 10, 2007 on Raw's 15th Anniversary Special as a face by teaming up with former long-time rival/real-life friend Trish Stratus to rid the ring of Jillian Hall, and afterwards celebrated in the ring with Stratus, and later that night, she had a backstage reunion with Kane, her former on-screen husband. She also appeared on the November 1, 2010 episode of Raw in a backstage segment with Pee Wee Herman. On December 12, 2011, Lita appeared as the Slammy Award presenter for the Divalicious Moment of 2011 on Raw, which was presented to Kelly Kelly.
Dumas also appeared at WWE Wrestlemania Axxess, and later was seen sitting front row with CM Punk at the WWE Hall Of Fame 2012, leading to her attendance for Wrestlemania 28. Lita returned on the 1000th episode of Raw defeating Heath Slater in a no disqualification, no count out match with the help from the legends who had defeated Slater during the past weeks as well as the APA.
